Original Football Action With Oakland Raiders Tickets

Sunday, June 29th, 2008
Al Terry asked:

The reason why Oakland Raiders tickets are so hard to come by is because the Raiders are one of the most popular teams in the NFL. Football lovers and fans can always be sure of exciting football action when the Raiders hit the field. Whether they are on a winning streak or trying to find their groove, the Raiders always put their heart and soul into every game.

The Oakland Raiders play in the National Football League and also hold affiliations with the American Football Conference and the AFC West. They have one of the most impressive title wins in the NFL, with three Super Bowl wins, four Conference title wins and fifteen Division titles. The Raiders’ home stadium is McAfee Coliseum.

An Unlikely Beginning

The Raiders were founded in 1960 and were part of the AFL. After the Minneapolis team shifted to the NFL, the AFL needed a team to fill the void and Oakland was the unlikely solution. Not only had the city not asked for a football team, it didn’t have the facilities to host one either. Still, the team was able to find people willing to invest. Soon there were people willing to buy Oakland Raiders tickets as well.

In 1963, Al Davis took over the reigns of the Raiders and things began to vastly improve for the team. Until the eighties, the team played consistently and managed three Super Bowl wins as well as a number of Division title wins and Conference wins as well. The Raiders looked like they had finally found some stability in their game but that was all about the change.

Moving Around

During this time, Davis was trying to get the Raiders’ stadium improved and when that didn’t materialize, he decided to move the team to Los Angeles. Fans were furious; after all, these were the people who had lined up for Oakland Raiders tickets for so many years. Despite the protests, the team was moved and the Los Angeles Raiders were born. Off the field, the move was marked by a number of internal quarrels that would brew on and off over the next few years. In 1995, the team was finally shifted back to Oakland.

The team was greeted with high Oakland Raiders tickets sales and jubilation from the fans. The Raiders seemed happy to be home and played consistently, though the glory of their early days was definitely lacking. In 2001, the team was involved in a famous controversial play called The Tuck in a game against the Patriots. However in 2006 the Raiders pulled in their worst record since 1962. The team is currently trying to improve its offensive line up which is generally seen as the Raiders’ weakest game point.

Many football lovers who love to see a hot and tense game buy Oakland Raiders tickets especially when they are paired with some of their rivals. Their fiercest rivalry is probably with the New England Patriots and was made famous in the controversial game called The Tuck and the tragic incident that left a Patriots player permanently paralyzed. So if you love football and want to see some hard hitting action on the field, get yourself some Oakland Raiders tickets. You can buy them online as well as from an authorized ticket vendor.

BILLIE

Buffalo Bills 2006 Schedule

Friday, June 27th, 2008
Jake Truman asked:

Buffalo who? That’s right. After going to, and losing, four straight Super Bowls, the Bills have been like a light bulb that keeps flickering as its dying off. Finally, that light went off in Bills camp. In 2001, they won three games. In 2002, they looked like they turned the corner when they won 8. In 2003, it was back to the same old struggling Bills as they won 6. In 2004, they again looked interesting when they went 9-7. Last season, they struggled to win 5 games. Anyone else see a pattern here? If the pattern holds up, the Bills are going to win many games this season. Could they be 10-6?

History watchers will not be so quick as to write off the Buffalo Bills this season. Their schedule, however, says we should probably brace for a 5-6 win season out of the Bills. During the offseason, they lost some key players, perhaps. The potentially key losses were Justin Bannan to Baltimore, Lawyer Milloy to Atlanta, Mike Williams to Jacksonville, Sam Adams to the Bengals, Mark Campbell to the Saints, Eric Moulds to Houston and Trey Teague to the rival Jets.

However, it wasn’t all losses. They picked up many players this offseason as well. Among the new Buffalo Bills players were Craig Nall, Andre Davis, Robert Royal, Larry Tripplett, Matt Bowen, Melvin Fowler, Matt Morgan, Kiwaukee Thomas, James Bethea, Aaron Gibson, Peerless Price, Tutan Reyes and Anthony Thomas. Let’s take a look at their moderate schedule this season.

Week 1: @ New England Patriots

Week 2: @ Miami Dolphins

Week 3: New York Jets

Week 4: Minnesota Vikings

Week 5: @ Chicago Bears

Week 6: @ Detroit Lions

Week 7: New England Patriots

Week 8: Bye

Week 9: Green Bay Packers

Week 10: @ Indianapolis Colts

Week 11: @ Houston Texans

Week 12: Jacksonville Jaguars

Week 13: San Diego Chargers

Week 14: @ New York Jets

Week 15: Miami Dolphins

Week 16: Tennessee Titans

Week 17: @ Baltimore Ravens

That’s a pretty tough schedule for a team that was 5-11 last season. You can pick out about 5-6 games on their schedule that are against teams right on par with the Bills. The other 10-11 are against teams that should be at least slightly above their level. Four of their eight road games are against teams that should be good to very good this season—Bears, Dolphins, Patriots and Colts.

East Carolina Pirates College Football Tickets Available

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008
Gen Wright asked:

Founded in Greenville, North Carolina, The East Carolina Pirates is the team representing the intercollegiate professional football team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association for East Carolina. So far, the team has won over 8 bowl games and 5 conference championships. Popular for its Old Gold and Royal Purple combination, the team boasts is perseverance to constantly bag the championships. East Carolina Pirates has been in a total of three conferences so far which includes North State, Conference USA and Southern where they won three times and shared the championship once. Currently, the team has yet to win their first conference championship in Conference USA.

Originally, the team was named after pirates because the North Carolina coasts has been long associated with Blackbeard, one of the most popular pirates in the history, and his men. They have settled in the communities of Bath, Beaufort and Ocracoke. *** Dee the Pirate, the University?s mascot, is actually based on Blackbeard?s character. *** Dee is actually a river that cuts North Carolina and South Carolina. This river is where the pirates have usually set up their camp. In 1934, East Carolina decided to acquire the name Pirates to capture the historical background of their land.

This season, the East Carolina Pirates is yet again a hot item for football fanatics and college patriots alike. After their very good and capable season in 2007, they will surely sizzle again in 2008 and excite the watchers of the game. Current head coach Skip Holtz has worked hard to keep his team in good physical shape and high spirits. With their high-powered offense and undeniably good defense, the Pirates prove to be a competitive contender to reckon with. The Pirates are currently ranked 8th in Conference USA and 9th in total offense. Their defense, however is one of the stingiest red-zone defense and actually lead the conference?s total defense.

Their winning streak of three games has allowed just 12.0 points and 233.3 yards of offense per game. This brought about by team effort as contributors have been coming from all over the field. But what has shined recently is the impressive play of the linebackers. Rivals should also watch out for quarterback Patrick Pinkney who moved into sole possession of seventh place on the school?s all-time completions list after connecting on 26-of-37 attempts for 287 yards and a touchdown against Marshall. Freshman Emmanuel Davis has been defensive player of the week and is yet another player to look out for.

Surely, the Dowdy-Ficklin Stadium will be filled with raving fanatics and create a pandemonium to cheer for the East Carolina Pirates to break more school records and beat their rivals at their prime. If the East Carolina Pirates win over the Marshall University Thundering Horde on the next game, they will bag the East Division. Winning the east division will be a breeze for the Pirates but rivals will definitely give them something to work on. The next few games is something worthwhile to look forward to.
